Some times bushing welds to shaft and goes through seal. Next place is seal on shaft that drives pumps. Easy to change while pumps are out. MACK. Thanks Mack, I'll pull the pumps out. The top steel hydraulic line going out of the oil cooler and into the steering column developed a leak (by rubbing against the bracket above the radiator) and I thought I would document for others the options that I discovered to fix it.It's the same reservoir, on my tractor, for the transmission, hydraulics and power steering. It lifted it, but would not lift it very high. The 400 loader is supposed to have a lift capacity of 2,000 lbs. I do have a quick-attach adapter plate on my loader, which extends the loader's arms by about 4" to 6" and changes the ...Sounds like a case of flex ring deterioration in the injection pump. You could try removing the return fitting on the top of the pump and see if it will run. If so than that will verify this problem. There is a glass ball in that fitting and it will plug with flex ring particles and kill the tractor instantly.I would recommend adding the second cross pin since you have it all apart. I had a shifter problem on my WD and got a rebuilt one from Sandy Lake. Mine is a 51 straight shifter.The first quick test I would do is run a jumper from the F terminal to ground and run the engine at half throttle and above. If it charges, investigate the F wire from the generator to the regulator. From there pull the belt off the generator and disconnect the wire on the F terminal at the generator.Joined: 11 Sep 2009.
