Look under the tank on the left rear and see if the pair valve is still on the bike. Then check to see if it still connected to the back of the air box and the top of the valve covers. Loosen the locknuts, I believe you can only do the top nuts, the u-shaped bracket holds the bottom locknut in place, then slide the cable out of the "U". Remove seat. Is the vacuum hose to the diaphragm behind the petcock connected. 3. Bike is a 2003 the diaphragm may have a hole/crack in it. The noise seems to be coming from the rear. The manual says spec compression is 171psi @ 300prm. We checked my 04 1300R and got 165 psi in both cyclinders. Dave's bike has about 6000 more miles than mine, for a total of about 12,000miles on his bike.If you burnt up the starter switch that says it has too much current going threw it. This creates enough room to remove the starter wires and starter without the coolant mess.
